On this month's episode we have special guest, California artist/illustrator/popular Instagramer: Sam Karkanen!
She took a moment to audio respond to a few questions I asked her about her artwork and social media presence!
I also asked her to choose the song I covered for this episode and she chose a favorite of mine by one of my idols: Joan Jett.
Which I thought was so cool considering we don't personally know each other and she could read me so well, ha!
I sing: "Bad Reputation" By: Joan Jett
Here's a few of my favorite pieces:

Episode 17 - Happy Birthday Floyd Lanning! / Special Guest Denver Dalley
Friday Nov 25, 2016
Friday Nov 25, 2016
This is a HUGE episode!
Not only is it in celebration of my grandfather, Floyd Lanning's birthday, we have another special celebrity guest!
I was lucky enough this episode to catch a fantastic interview with Denver Dalley of The Desaparecidos, fronted by Conor Oberst also of the band, Bright Eyes.
He was awesome enough to call me on his only day off tour and chat about what he's been up to since the Desaparecidos had to cancel their own tour, knowing Conor from when they were teens, and his major contribution and composition in the band.
I cover:
"Buy a Little Time With Her" - Floyd Lanning (off his album Pretty Boy Floyd)
"Man and Wife, the Former (Financial Planning)" - Desaparecidos
"Gossimer Thin" - Conor Oberst (off his new album Ruminations)
My mom covers:
"Tips of my Fingers" - Eddy Arnold
My grandmother Bessie covers:
"Beginning of Goodbye" - Floyd Lanning (also off his album Pretty Boy Floyd)
And the show ends with my grandfather's version of "Tips of My Fingers" solo on acoustic guitar.
The birthday cake my mom made for one of my grandfather's birthdays
One of my favorite photos of him. He was an avid bodybuilder.

Friday Oct 21, 2016
This is a BIG DEAL episode! We have our FIRST celebrity guest:
CJ Ramone from the most iconic Punk band EVER, THE RAMONES!!!
I had the honor and privilege of interviewing one of the last living Ramones members and the last member to join the band before their retirement in 1996.
I can't say thank you enough to him for letting me interview him!
I feature his song: "Last Chance to Dance" off his 2014 album of the same title. It's a great album. My personal favorite off of it is "Till the End"
Check it and everything else he's up to out at:

I cover:

Episode 14 - Special Guest Sunshine
Wednesday Aug 17, 2016
Wednesday Aug 17, 2016
On this episode we give a nod to my other favorite genre of music, Punk.
Our special guest is my friend Sunshine who loves Joan Jett and Punk just as much as I do. We both cover songs by The Cramps.
Her and her stand in band, Flame Job sing "Garbageman" and I sing "Surfin' Dead."
And I forgot to mention, my song is from the 1980's film, Return of the Living Dead's soundtrack and I wanted to definitely shout out to that movie because it's one of my most favorite ones and I love the soundtrack.
My grandmother covers an old favorite of hers, "Kansas City" made famous by Fats Domino in the 50's. We do a rockin' version though with some extra electric punk guitar added by me.
